An unscheduled Cardi Claus visit!

Thanks to Laura M and Cooper! I stopped at the post office on my way to the airport this morning to pick up a parcel that the letter carrier didn't want to leave in the rain. And what to wondering eyes should appear! Two cute ornaments including a playful red cardi (who is much more svelte than the one living with me now!!)

Cardi Claus Reminder!

Everyone agreed to have their treasures in the mail by December 1, which is this Wednesday!

Expanding Scout

I included Spencer in the pic for comparison.  He is 38 lbs, she is 36.  She was 31 before the breeding.

About three weeks to go.

Baby Bumps

Scout is filling out more every day. Her coat is thick and luxe, and her nails are growing like crazy.  I don't want to stress her by doing something about them, so I just listen to them clicking on the floor.  So far pregnancy agrees with her.

Not sure when her due date is, but I'm guessing somewhere between Dec 17 and 22.  She had a fast cycle - she started showing season on Sunday, October 10.  It's possible she started on Saturday and I missed it, but she was at daycare on Friday, so I know it was no earlier than Saturday.

I took her to the vet on Tuesday, Oct 12.  Her progesterone was low, but the swab showed more cornified cells than un-cornified.  I took her to her rendezvous with Chase on Wednesday, Oct 13, and Cheryl and Susan did AIs between Oct 14 and Oct 20.

First Puppy Pictures!

Puppies at our house for Christmas!  Doc didn't do an exhaustive search and count, but there are three there for sure.  We will go back in a few weeks for an x-ray to get a count.

Babies on board?

Tomorrow we go for an ultrasound to see if we have pups in there.  To me, she seems to have all of a sudden lost her girlish figure and her signature tuck-up.  Stay tuned to see what we find out.

I have been a bit out of touch for several days.  Work deadlines, one of those birthdays that ends in "0" and trying to get the cave finished up and the rest of the house in shape for the Thanksgiving onslaught has kept me hopping.  Also stopping every few minutes to ask Scout, "Are you pregnant?"  I will probably go for an ultrasound the end of next week, because she's not saying much- altho she did throw up a couple of days ago, which is very unusual for her.

Should we let Cardi Claus out of the dog house again this year?

Anyone interested in playing Cardi Claus again this year?  If you missed it, last year we had an ornament/goodie exchange.  A bunch of folks let me know they wanted to play, and I had fun playing matchmaker.  The idea was to share a little holiday cheer with a blogger friend - we had packages that went all across the country:

So - if you are interested in playing this year, there are a few rules.  Unfortunately, last year there were a few players who signed up, and even received packages, but didn't hold up their end of deal.  So, if you want to join in, please commit to following these few rules:

1.  Email me at cardibloggerholidayxchange@gmail.com with your name, address, and a little about you and your pack.  Have your email to me by 6:00 pm on Monday, November 15. 

2.  I will email back to you the name and info of your Cardi Claus pal no later than November 17.  I will try to mix things up so that the person who receives your name is not the same person that you will play Cardi Claus for.

3.  Ok - here's the big thing, so big I am going to bold and italicize:  You commit to getting your Cardi Claus package in the mail by Monday, December 1.  This will ensure that everyone gets to enjoy their Cardi Claus booty during prime celebrating time!

There is no upper or lower limit on what you decide to do as far as gift giving.  The fun in this is sharing fun and holiday spirit with another friend across the miles.
