Anyhow, that's what I've been humming the last few days. David left today with Alex and Allan and cardi brother Tim, headed home to Kentucky:
And tonight I came home and faced my new reality:
No more flying saucer bowl. Just my little pack:
So now we settle into our routines. With the exception of some scary days in December, I can definitely say that my first foray into being a breeder was less work and more fun than I ever could have imagined. It was such a gift to watch my girl Scout be such a good mama after that scary start. I am so happy that seven happy, healthy pups are out there with their wonderful families, and that one sweet girl is chewing on Spencer's head at my feet as I type this.

You done good, Janet! I've been living vicariously through you!
Congratulations - another great breeder is born!
This is what breeding is all about!
Such a wonderful, healthy, well-adjusted group of puppies. Great job Scout and Janet! Oh, yeah, and Uncle Grump.
What a great experience! And we really enjoyed watching on the blog. Thank you for sharing!
I, for one, would like to thank you for sharing the entire time with us. And for allowing me to bring Nick into our family - he is such a joy and as sweet as pie. You did a wonderful job - and Scout and Spencer did too!
I am glad you had such a positive experience after Scout's rocky start. I wish I could have met the litter. Hopefully one day I'll get to meet Nick as he is a fairly close neighbor!
Oh, I also meant to comment, whenever I see a picture of Scout and Spencer eating side by side like that , it gives me a chuckle. If I were to put Jimmy/Wilson like that, they would INHALE the meal in one breath to ensure the other didn't get any!
